The Intl. Academy of Television Arts and Sciences will bestow its Founders Award on TV host David Frost and Directorate Award on Markus Schaechter, topper at German pubcaster ZDF.
The announcement was made Thursday by Intl. Academy prexy and CEO Bruce L. Paisner. Frost is honored as one of the preeminent TV figures of the 20th century, whose 40-year career includes interviews with celebrities and heavyweight pols including the famed post-Watergate sessions with Richard Nixon. Schaechter was chosen because of his leadership of ZDF for the past seven years.
