Disney sets ‘Manny’ time

Disney Channel has set a launch date for the shortform spinoff of its popular kids series “Handy Manny.”

Handy Manny School for Tools” will bow at 8:25 a.m. Jan. 25 during the cabler’s “Playhouse Disney” preschool block.

Disney will air eight new shorts that week; it also has an additional 11 that will run throughout the year.

Wilmer Valderrama stars as the voice of “Handy Manny’s” title character. The shorts will introduce 11 characters — all in the form of hardware tools, such as Beamer the laser level, Zip the power socket wrench and Sneeze the shop vac, in addition to the characters on the series.
