Former BermanBraun and Warner Bros. TV exec Rachel Kaplan has joined the TV wing of Brillstein Entertainment Partners as exec veep.

Kaplan will work with Brillstein Entertainment Partners TV prexy Peter Traugott in developing a range of scripted and nonscripted projects. Traugott cited Kaplan’s “great taste and passion” for working with creative talent. Brillstein TV is in the midst of a three-year pact with ABC Studios (Daily Variety, Sept. 16).

During her tenure as head of scripted television for BermanBraun, Kaplan helped shepherd such projects as “Mercy,” the drama that just earned a midseason order from the Peacock, and sci-fi actioner “Virtuality.” Kaplan was among BermanBraun’s first exec hires when the company opened its doors in 2007.

Before that, Kaplan served as veep of drama development at Warner Bros. TV, working on series including Fox’s “The OC,” ABC’s “Men in Trees,” NBC’s “Chuck” and CW’s “Gossip Girl.” Earlier in her career Kaplan was a producer on MTV’s “The Lyricist Lounge.”
