Tom Cruise, Judd Apatow, Cameron Diaz and Nick Cassavetes headline the list of guests for the second “AMC Storymakers” primetime special, scheduled to air on the cabler Friday.
“Storymakers,” hosted by Variety VP and editorial director Peter Bart and Mandalay Entertainment chair Peter Guber, is an offshoot of the duo’s former AMC series “Sunday Morning Shootout.”
“The format was developed to create a comfortable environment where the talent can engage in a conversation that is candid, casual and spontaneous,” said Robert Friedman, media and entertainment prexy at @radical.media, which is producing “Storymakers.” “This is in line with the expectations created for the audience at AMC.”
“Storymakers” premiered in February with a pre-Oscars special featuring Amy Adams, Frank Langella, Melissa Leo and Danny Boyle.
Diaz will appear next month in “My Sister’s Keeper,” which Cassavetes directed, while Apatow’s “Funny People,” with Adam Sandler, is due for release July 31.
