‘Love’ extends run at Westside

Ephrons' show to stay into 2010

After setting a house record for advance sales, Nora and Delia Ephron’s show “Love, Loss, and What I Wore” will extend its run at Off Broadway’s Westside Theater into 2010.

Adapted from Ilene Beckerman’s book and recollections of the writers’ friends, the show examines key moments in women’s lives via memories triggered by clothing and accessories. Directed by Karen Carpenter, it opened ThursdayOct. 1 and was originally scheduled to run through Dec. 13, but warm reviews and brisk sales have prompted producer Daryl Roth to extend through March. Box office reportedly has surpassed $600,000, making it the fastest seller in the 250-seat theater’s history.

Show employs a rotating cast in four-week cycles, opening with Samantha Bee, Tyne Daly, Katie Finneran, Natasha Lyonne and Rosie O’Donnell. Other scheduled performers include Jane Lynch, Kristin Chenoweth, Rhea Perlman and Rita Wilson, with casting for the extension to be announced.
