Nolan Gerard Funk, Allie Trimm and Dee Hoty are among the thesps rounding out the cast of the Roundabout Theater Company’s upcoming Broadway revival of “Bye Bye Birdie.”
Funk, who plays the Elvis-like rock ‘n’ roll dreamboat Conrad Birdie, starred in the Nickelodeon show-choir telepic “Spectacular!” earlier this year. Trimm (“13”) plays teenaged fan Kim, with Hoty (“The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public”) cast as Kim’s mother.
Thesps join an ensemble that includes John Stamos as Birdie’s manager Albert, Gina Gershon as Albert’s secretary and love interest and Bill Irwin as Kim’s father. Robert Longbottom helms the 1960 tuner by composer Charles Strouse, lyricist Lee Adams and book writer Michael Stewart.
“Birdie” is the inaugural production in the new Henry Miller’s Theater, beginning perfs Sept. 10 ahead of an Oct. 15 opening.
