TORONTO — The Stratford Shakespeare Festival has announced principal casting for its 2010 season.
Nikki M. James will reunite with Christopher Plummer, her 2008 co-star from “Caesar and Cleopatra,” in “The Tempest,” helmed by Stratford artistic director Des McAnuff. James will play Ariel opposite Plummer’s Prospero.
Chilina Kennedy, who played Maria in Stratford’s 2009 smash, “West Side Story,” will reteam with her director on that project, Gary Griffin, to play the title role in “Evita.” Playing opposite her is Juan Chioran, also starring in John Doyle’s staging of “Kiss Me, Kate.”
Michael Therriault (“The Tin Pan Alley Rag”) will tackle the title role in “Peter Pan,” while in addition to appearing in “The Tempest,” Geraint Wyn Davies will recreate his portrait of Dylan Thomas in “Do Not Go Gentle” at Stratford.
