Yep, it was a stunt.

The public “spat” between dueling Broadway topliners Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein, which has escalated over the past week in a series of increasingly insulting press releases, has been resolved with the announcement of the pair starring in a single upcoming tuner, “All About Me.”

Show will be produced by what is purportedly an amalgam of the people behind the two separate entries: Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Robert G. Bartner and Ambassador Theater Group.

Scribe Christopher Durang and helmer Jerry Zaks, already announced as attached to the Edna show, round out the creative team of “All About Me.” Edna and Feinstein traded barbs in a squabble supposedly precipitated by the fact that both had similarly titled productions opening within a week of each other in March. (Edna’s outing was called “It’s All About Me,” while Feinstein’s was titled “All About Me.”)

Bravely soldiering on with the hoax, reps for the show attributed the reconciliation to Shubert org toppers Philip J. Smith and Robert E. Wankel, who stepped in to save the day, according to the praisers.

“All About Me” will kick off previews March 6 ahead of a March 23 opening at a Shubert theater to be determined.
