N.Y. Online Critics like ‘Avatar’

Jeff Bridges wins actor, Meryl Streep takes actress

“Inglourious Basterds” dominated the New York Film Critics Online awards, winning for best supporting actor and breakthrough performer (both nods to Christoph Waltz). Pic also took best screenplay, cinematography and was named one of the year’s top 11 films.

But the top award for best picture went to James Cameron’s “Avatar.”

Org, composed of Internet film critics based in New York City, picked Jeff Bridges as best actor for “Crazy Heart,” while Meryl Streep took best actress for “Julie & Julia.”

Critics’ tenth annual meeting took place at at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center.
