London to speak at Film Independent

Forum begins Oct. 9

Film Independent has set speakers for the fifth annual Filmmaker Forum, including producers Michael London and Cathy Schulman, as well as Scott Kennedy, director of 2008 docu “The Garden.”

Forum, which kicks off Oct. 9 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood, includes an opening-night screening, case studies and panel discussions with the filmmakers.

Three-day event ends with a cocktail reception where the recipient of the Film Independent/Sloan Producers grant will be announced.

UTA’s Richard Klubeck, helmer-scribe John August (“The Nines”), director Matt Tyrnauer (“Valentino: The Last Emperor”) and Michael Cieply of the New York Times are also set to attend.
