Wild Side acquires ‘Murderer’

Showbox to handle international sales of film

SEOUL — Korean helmer Na Hong-jin’s new project “The Murderer” has been acquired by Wild Side Films for France.

Pic tells the story of a man from the China-Russia-North Korea border who embarks on an assassination mission to South Korea. Scripted by Na, pic received the Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum(HAF) Award at the Hong Kong Intl. Film Festival this year. Na’s last film, “The Chaser,” was a runaway hit at the Korea B.O. in 2008.

Showbox Mediaplex is handling international sales of the film. The company also announced that helmer Yang Ik-june’s Rotterdam fest player “Breathless” has been sold to Tadrart Film for France for a 2010 release.
