HOLLYWOOD — The 14th Pusan Film Festival has appointed new programmers and shuffled the management of the Asian Film Market.
Cho Young Jung, who selected pics for the world cinema section last year, will move to Asian films, joining Kim Ji Seok, who has been programming Asian cinema for 13 years.
Film critic Jeon Chan Il joins world cinema, focusing on pics for the Flash Forward section.
Incumbent programmers are Lee Sangyoung for Korean cinema, Hong Hyosook for the Wide Angle section (Korean independent film, shorts, documentaries), Rhee Soue Won for French and Italian cinema and Pak Dosin for Midnight Passion section.
The 4-year-old Asian Film Market has appointed Bom Film CEO Cho Gwang-hee as deputy director and Nam Dongchul, a former chief editor of Cine21, as general manager.
Lee Yong-kwan adds Asian Film Market director to his duties as Pusan’s co-festival director.
The Pusan fest runs Oct. 8-16; the Asian Film Market runs Oct. 11-14.
