IFC adopts ‘Ricky’ for 2010

French thriller premiered at Berlin Film Festival

IFC Films has acquired North American distribution rights to French thriller “Ricky,” directed by Francois Ozon (“Swimming Pool”). Distrib plans a 2010 release.

Adapted from the short story “Moth” by English novelist Rose Tremain, pic centers on a boy and the struggles of a working-class single parent in contemporary France. “Ricky” premiered in competition at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film stars Alexandra Lamy and Sergi Lopez. Chris Bolzli, Claudie Ossard and Vieri Razzini produced.
