Miley Cyrus dominates Kids’ Choice

Film nominees include 'Dark Knight,' 'Iron Man'

It’s slime time for this year’s 22nd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards nominees, a roster that includes perennial kudofest faves Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Jennifer Aniston and Miley Cyrus.

Carrey, Sandler and Smith – all of whom have famously been showered with Nickelodeon’s signature green slime on past Kids’ Choice telecasts, will compete in the Favorite Movie Actor category against first time nominee George Lopez.

Aniston scored her seventh Kids’ Choice nod, this time in the Favorite Female Movie Star category. She’ll face off against first-time KCA nominee Anne Hathaway, as well as Vanessa Hudgens and Reese Witherspoon.

Cyrus, meanwhile, is a triple threat in this year’s competish. The singer/actress, who last year took home two KCA blimps, is up for Favorite Female Singer, Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie, while her series “Hannah Montana” is up for Favorite TV Show.

The TV show category looks like a who’s who of the average kid’s TiVo season pass: “Hannah” will face off against “iCarly,” “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “Zoey 101.” The reality show competish, meanwhile, consists of shows hailing from those dinosaur broadcast nets: “America’s Next Top Model,” “Deal or No Deal.” “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” and last year’s winner, “American Idol.”

On the film side, “The Dark Knight” may have been snubbed by Oscar, but it’s in line for the Kids’ Choice Favorite Movie award. “Dark Knight” will face off against “Bedtime Stories,” “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” and “Iron Man.”

Among animated features, “Bolt” goes up against “Wall-E,” “Kung Fu Panda” and “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.” Cyrus is in good company for the animated voice-over award, going up against Carrey as well as former Kids’ Choice Awards hosts Jack Black and Ben Stiller.

The TV actor category includes a battle of the Sprouses – “Zack and Cody” stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse – as well as Nat Wolff (“The Naked Brothers Band”) and “My Name is Earl” star Jason Lee.

For TV actresses, Cyrus will face off with “iCarly’s” Miranda Cosgrove, as well as “Wizards of Waverly Place’s” Selena Gomez and “Ugly Betty” thesp America Ferrera.

As for the music categories, last year’s Favorite Music Group, the Jonas Brothers, are back, facing off with Daughtry, Linkin Park and the Pussycat Dolls.

Among female singers, Cyrus is up against Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Rihanna – all of whom are past Kids’ Choice winners. Among the men, Chris Brown, Jesse McCartney, Kid Rock and T-Pain are all up for a KCA Blimp.

Then there’s the favorite song – all of which were ubiquitous on iPods and top 40 radio over the past year: Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music,” and Chris Brown’s collaboration with T-Pain, “Kiss Kiss.”

Voting for the awards will take place via Nick’s Kids Choice website starting March 2. The kudofest, exec produced by Bob Bain and Marjorie Cohn (and directed by Beth McCarthy), takes place on Saturday, March 28 at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion. The actor formerly known as The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, is set to host.
