CreateSpace, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, announced Monday that they will be teaming up with New Line, Sony Pictures and Lionsgate to bring TV and movie soundtracks to their Disc on-Demand service, available through Amazon.com.

Soundtracks available in August will be New Line’s “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” and Sony Pictures’ “District 9” and “Julie and Julia.”

CreateSpace, founded as CustomFlix Labs in 2002 and acquired by Amazon in 2005, has an on-demand manufacturing platform to quickly release soundtracks for film and TV in digital and CD formats for inventory-free distribution.

“Disc on-Demand is an economically viable solution for production studios to make movie soundtracks available to fans with very little risk,” said Dana LoPiccolo-Giles, managing director of CreateSpace.

In addition, through the company’s “Back From the Vault” program, out-of-print and older soundtracks are made available again, such as “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “The Santa Clause,” and “Primal Fear.”
