Jon Stewart and “Cheap Populism”

Rick Santelli was to be a guest on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," but he dropped out on Friday.

That apparently was fuel enough for Jon Stewart, who did an extended riff on the insanity of CNBC, which seems to have forgotten that it was less than a year ago that it was lionizing the very corporate titans that got the economy into the mess that we're in.

With portfolios shrinking everywhere, savings depleted and jobs lost, we're all angry, but as Stewart suggest, the last thing that we need is Santelli's neighbor vs. neighbor "cheap populism."
