London fetes Canadian film board

Event celebrate orgs 70th anniversary

London is hosting a series of events in May to celebrate the National Film Board of Canada’s 70th anniversary.

Activities include a bigscreen presentation of the animation genius of Norman McLaren; a celebration of the NFB’s role in aboriginal filmmaking, including films and talks by Canuck filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin; as well as an overview of the NFB’s part in socially relevant cinema, from National Film Board of Canada founder John Grierson’s vision to today.

Canada’s public film producer and distributor, the NFB produces and distributes social-issue documentaries, auteur animation, alternative drama and digital content from a Canadian perspective.
