‘Fringe’ hot in the U.K.

Sci-fi drama tops in subscriptions for Warner Bros.

TV viewers in the U.K. are willing to pay a little extra to see Warner Bros.’ “Fringe.”

Premiering in October, paranormal-based drama was the No. 1 subscription-on-demand show across all Warner TV branded services. According to just-released viewership totals, “Fringe” — starring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and John Noble — had the most video streams of any WB show on Warner TV on Virgin Media and was No. 2 behind comedy “The Big Bang Theory” on BT Vision and Tiscali.tv’s TalkTalk.

“Fringe,” produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Prods., is also broadcast in the U.K. on Sky1, where it’s averaging 740,000 per episode, up 16% from season one.

Meanwhile, at the studio’s domestic TV distribution unit, Lorring Allyn and Allen Etherton have been promoted to VP’s in the finance department.
