Cartoon Forum attracts 63 projects

Financing event runs Sept. 22-25 in Norway

STOCKHOLM — Sixty-three animation projects with a combined budget of Euros 155 million ($215 million) will be presented at European animation event Cartoon Forum, which runs Sept. 22-25.

The event, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is to be held in the Norwegian cities of Stavanger and Sandnes.

Over the past 20 years, more than 300 projects, with a total budget of more than $1.4 billion, have secured financing at the Forum, which aims to support the co-production, financing and distribution of animation series.

This year’s projects include 28 European co-productions, with 17 originating from France, 12 from Spain, seven from the U.K. and 11 from Scandinavia.

The Cartoon Award and Tributes will be announced during the event.
