Trogi biopic to open film festival

Quebec helmer-scribe Ricardo Trogi’s biopic “1981” will open the Montreal World Film Festival on Aug. 27, fest prexy Serge Losique said Wednesday.

The French-language pic will bow in Quebec Sept. 4 via distributor Alliance Vivafilm. The full programming of the 12-day fest will be unveiled in August. The only other event already announced is a tribute to Quebec thesp Pierre Lebeau.
