Korea’s CinDi fest gets ‘Fever’

Festival will open August 19

SEOUL — Korea’s 3rd Cinema Digital Seoul Film Festival (CinDi) will open Aug. 19 with Chinese helmer Lou Ye’s “Spring Fever,” which won the screenplay award at Cannes.

Aiming at discovering Asian talent in digital cinema, seven-day fest will screen 92 films from 17 countries, including 15 films in competition.

Competition pics are:

“Cucumber” by Zhou Yaowu (China); “Deep in the Valley” by Funahashi Atsushi (Japan); “End of Love” by Simon Chung (Hong Kong China); “Fence” by Fujiwara Toshi (Japan); “Flooding in the Time of Drought” by Sherman Ong (Singapore); “Fugu” by Faozan Rizal (Indonesia); “Hosu-gil” by Jung Jae-hoon (Korea); “The Kid” by Liu Shu (China); “Oxhide II” by Liu Jia Yin (China); “Petition” by Zhao Liang (China, France); “The Search” by Pema Tseden (China); “Sex My Life” by Bahman Mo’tamedian (Iran); “Tokyo Onlypic” by Mashima Riichiro (Japan); “Wheat Harvest” by Xu Tong (China); “Itaewon Murder Case” by Hong Ki-seon (Korea).
