Film Movement in tune with ‘Drummer’

Pic set for simultaneous theater, VOD release

Film Movement has acquired North American rights to Kenneth Bi’s actioner “The Drummer” and plans a simultaneous fall release in theaters and on video-on-demand.

The Mandarin- and Cantonese-language film stars Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee and centers on a rebellious young man growing up in his gangster father’s shadow who then discovers the Zen world of drumming.

“The Drummer” was released in Hong Kong in October 2007 and made its North American premiere at Sundance last year in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section.
