RAI takes ‘Gloops,’ ‘Megaminimals’

Neptuno sells pre-school series

MADRID — RaiSat, the satellite arm of Italian pubcaster RAI, has picked up Italian pay TV rights to pre-school series “The Gloops” and “Megaminimals,” produced and sold by Spanish toon house Neptuno Films.

Both series will air on children’s channel RaiSat YoYo.

Also, RaiSat and Neptuno have inked a licensing deal that sees RaiSat developing merchandizing and publishing initiatives in Italy for farm adventures toon skein “Connie the Cow,” one of Neptuno’s most internationally successful series.

Founded in 1991 by Josep Viciana and Cristina Brandner, Barcelona-based Neptuno Films is regular product provider for the Italian pubcaster, which already bought other Neptuno animation series, such as “Dougie in Disguise” and “Tork.”
