'Shiratora' to be first drama featured

TOKYO — The Fuji TV network launched a service  for cell phone users on Tuesday, beaming video content related to Fuji dramas.

 The ad-supported service is free the first week, but viewers are charged a fee starting the second. By offering the free content, Fuji hopes to expand its subscriber base for its pay service.

The first drama to be featured is “Shiratora,” about the trials and tribulations of a new cop on the youth crime beat. The “Shiratora” video is 90 seconds long and provides inside info about the drama’s characters. The content will be updated weekly.
