PARIS — French production and distribution company 10 Francs has inked a series of sales following the 14th TV France Intl. Rendez-Vous, which ran Sept. 8-12.

The shingle sold 40 episodes of educational series “Encyclopedia” to Finland’s YLE. Each seven-minute episode highlights a mythological or historical figure, such as Cleopatra and Socrates.

The shingle also sold 300 episodes of “Short Leaves,” a series of six-minute episodes each exploring a different city, to Belgium’s RTL; and two miniseries, “Tendres Agneaux” and “La Cour des Gants,” to Qatar’s Al Jazeera Kids.

10 Francs’ founder Guy Knafo, who is VP of export body TV France Intl., has recently helped set up trade org. the European Coordination of Audiovisual Distributors, which will try to ease negotiations between rights holders and distribs. The org. is headed by Derry O’Brien, managing director of Network Ireland TV.

“We will work closely with the European Commission to apply guidelines to the export of TV programs,” Knafo said.
