BUENOS AIRES — Promofilm has upped Hugo Di Guglielmo to VP and consultant of the international department of its Argentinean unit charged with expanding sales in Latin America.

He takes the post after four years running Promofilm Argentina’s operations in Chile, most recently overseeing the sale of “Superdupla,” a hit weekly quiz show in Chile that tests parents and children’s knowledge of each other’s generations, to Spain’s TVE and other territories.

Promofilm will offer “Superdupla” at NATPE Jan. 28-31 in Las Vegas and unveil the Di Guglielmo-led international department.

Promofilm, which has offices in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Madrid and Miami, specializes in producing entertainment for the Spanish-speaking market in the U.S. and Latin America. It is part of Spanish TV giant Imagina, a venture of production services provider and rights trader Mediapro and production company Grupo Arbol.

Di Guglielmo, who will continue to oversee Chile, also has worked as a consultant to broadcasters like Colombia’s RCN and Uruguay’s Monte Carlo TV as well as Spanish TV consulting firm GECA. He ran programming at top Argentinean network Artear-Canal 13 for 12 years until 2001.
