Todd Whiting was named vice president, cable and ancillary sales at NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Since September 2006, Whiting has served as director, Cable and Ancillary Sales for the Domestic Television Distribution division.

Most recently, Whiting completed the off-network licensing deal of “The Biggest Loser” to Scripps’ Fine Living Network, as well as the deal to provide the original weekly program “Hollywood Green with Maria Menounous” to Discovery’s Planet Green network. Additionally, Whiting provided analysis and sales support for the off-network sale of “The Office” to TBS and the ground-breaking Universal Pictures 2008 slate deal to FX Network.

Prior to joining the Domestic Distribution team, Whiting was one of the first executives in NBCU’s Digital Media division. He held a variety of positions in business development, digital distribution, operations and production.

Whiting joined NBCU in 2004 as the first hire in the Management Associates program. Prior to NBCU, Whiting earned his Masters of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

He began his career in communications and sales after graduating from Pepperdine University in California. He held a variety of positions at Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations, Ketchum Communications and UBS PaineWebber.

Todd was born and raised in La Canada-Flintridge, Calif., and was selected to be a part of the 2007 U.S. Olympic Development Team for the winter sliding sport of Skeleton.
