TORONTO — Former Zeitgeist Films theatrical marketing director Stephanie Azam has been tapped as feature film executive (English-language market) of Telefilm Canada, the public film funding agency that also administers the Canadian Feature, Television and New Media Funds.

 Azam left Zeitgeist in January to become Telefilm’s specialist for English-language marketing.

She will be responsible for all major English-language investments over C$1.5 million ($1.4 million) in the Canada Feature Film Fund, and will work with the agency’s regional offices to select a diverse slate of projects.

 Telefilm exec director Wayne Clarkson said, “Stephanie’s creative and business experience complements the team and I am confident together they can achieve our goals.”
