Jones and Bee have signed on to co-create and co-write a script for themselves at CBS. The couple would also star in the as-yet-untitled comedy, which will revolve around the behind-the-scenes world of a celebrity chef (played by Jones) and the two women who run his cooking empire (one of whom will be played by Bee).
As part of the deal, they’ve sealed separate talent holding pacts with CBS and sister studio CBS Paramount Network TV. They’re penning their project under the development component of their deals.
Bee has appeared on “The Daily Show” since 2003; she was joined by husband Jones on the show in late 2005.
Duo rep the latest “Daily Show” stars to take advantage of its hugely successful springboard. “Daily Show” alums include Steve Carell, Rob Corddry (“The Winner”), Ed Helms (“The Office”) and Stephen Colbert.
Jones’ credits include the features “All About Steve” and “Cooper’s Camera,” which he co-wrote with writing partner Mike Beaver. He’s also penning an untitled movie for Paramount with Beaver, through producer John Hamburg.
Jones also is set to appear in an upcoming episode of the Eye’s “How I Met Your Mother.”
Bee appeared in “The Love Guru” and guested on “Rescue Me.”
