Weitz to develop series at TNT

Former Fox 21 VP spearheading drama

As part of its push into original series programming, TNT has recruited studio vet Brett Weitz to serve as veep of series development.

Formerly veepee of creative affairs for Fox 21 Studios, Weitz will develop scripted drama series for TNT, which has an ambitious plan to launch more than a half dozen skeins in the next few years.

Based in Los Angeles, he’ll report to Lillah McCarthy, VP of series programming for TNT and TBS.

During Weitz’s tenure at Fox 21, the studio division developed such series as the TNT drama “Saved” and the CW reality skein “Beauty and the Geek.”
