Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution has established a unified marketing structure for cable and broadcast and has promoted Susan Kantor to oversee it.
As exec VP, Kantor will be in charge of marketing for both distrib operation WBDTD and production arm Telepictures Prods.
Reporting to Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution prexy Ken Werner and Hilary Estey McLoughlin, president of Telepictures Prods., Kantor will handle the marketing, station relations and promotional activities for all firstrun series produced by Telepictures, including syndie skeins “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “TMZ,” “The Tyra Banks Show” and “The Bonnie Hunt Show.”
She’ll also oversee marketing duties for off-net series distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution, including “Two and a Half Men,” “Friends,” “Will & Grace” and “Sex and the City.”
Creation of the new marketing alignment follows the integration earlier this year of Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution into WBDTD.
As part of the marketing department restructuring, Kantor — who had served as senior VP of marketing for both WBDTD and Telepictures since 2006 — brought in Flip Creative’s Debbie Brunner as VP of creative, and hired longtime Sega promo maven Clint Manny as VP of marketing.
Meanwhile, Maury Leitner — formerly VP of marketing for Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution — was put in the newly created position of VP, marketing and advertising of WBDTD. Kantor also tapped Shelley Clark as manager, promotion.
Kantor is credited with overseeing promotion for last year’s syndie launch of “Two and a Half Men,” which became the top-rated off-net series for 2007-08.
