BERLIN — In an effort to keep up with its fast-expanding production activities, Tandem Communications has increased its staff with a number of appointments, including two senior members.

The Munich-based producer-distributor named Lisa Pierce as director of marketing and public relations.

Pierce, who has worked in Canada’s entertainment business for decades, recently re-located to Munich from Toronto.

A former talent agent and casting director, Pierce joined Alliance Intl. in 1993, serving as VP of marketing and publicity for the TV division worldwide and launched Lisa Pierce Creative Marketing in 2002, working as an independent marketing consultant for a wide range of clients, including Tandem and the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Tandem also appointed Andre Zoch, a former producer at entertainment giant Bavaria Film, as the company’s creative producer overseeing development and production of international and German TV productions.

At Bavaria, Zoch was responsible for TV productions, including pubcaster ARD’s high-rated crime series “Tatort.”

In addition, the company recently hired IngeRay Halldorsson as sales manager for Asian and Canadian regions and promoted Moritz Polter to production supervisor.

Tandem managing director Rola Bauer said the appointments reflect the company’s continuously growing slate of event programs.

“With the increase in volume, we needed to simultaneously increase our capacity by bringing in top-notch talent to the company. That way we can ensure the standards that our clients know from our productions and our sales support.”

Headed by Bauer, Tim Halkin and Jonas Bauer, Tandem is working on a slew of high-profile TV event movies and miniseries, including “The Pillars of the Earth,” based Ken Follett’s bestseller, which it is producing with Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Television.
