Starz sets cross-dressing documentary

John Landis will produce 60-minute show

Starz has hired John Landis to put together a 60-minute docu on cross-dressing in the movies.

Titled “Ladies or Gentlemen,” inspired by the book by Jean-Louis Ginibre, the docu, under the umbrella title “Starz Inside,” will be produced by Landis and Kevin Burns, who is executive producer for Prometheus Entertainment.

Film critic Richard Roeper will host.

The docu will be stuffed with clips of actors whose movie roles have called for them to don dresses. In the past, dozen of actors have put on ladies’ garb, including: Robin Williams, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Johnny Depp, Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, Sean Connery, Martin Lawrence, Jackie Chan, Jeff Bridges, Marlon Brando, Robert Mitchum, Michael Caine, Jerry Lewis, Gene Hackman and the Wayans brothers.

Burns has produced “Hollywood Rocks the Movies: The 1970s” and “Empire of Dreams: The Story of the ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy.”
