Principato-Young Entertainment has hired Matt Berenson as prexy of production in one of several moves that Peter Principato and Paul Young have made to bolster their company.
Berenson arrives at Principato-Young from the production prexy post at Carsey-Werner Films. He was a producer of “Daddy Day Care,” which he developed with PYE client Geoff Rodkey, and he developed the Robin Williams starrer “RV” with Rodkey.
PYE has also expanded its roster of managers by hiring George Heller and Tucker Vorhees. Heller ran his own company, Foursight, and brings clients that include Johnny Rosenthal, whose spec “Iron Jack” sold in a seven-figure Sony deal with Sacha Baron Cohen attached.
Vorhees comes from 3 Arts, and his clients include Rhys Darby from “Flight of the Conchords” and Paul Scheer and Jason Woliner from MTV’s “Human Giant.”
Principato-Young also promoted Evan Cavic and Dave Rosenthal to managers.
PYE, which has a first look Fox deal, is in production on “The Joneses,” the Derrick Borte-directed pic that stars David Duchovny and Demi Moore. The production company is also prepping the Nat Faxon-Jim Rash film “The Way Back” for Mandate. Other fast-tracked pics are the Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg-directed comedy “‘Til Beth Do Us Part” at Warner Bros. and the Frank Coraci-directed “The Bender” at New Line.
