NATPE has reupped prexy-CEO Rick Feldman for three years.
The org also announced plans for its 2009 confab, which will see Lionsgate topper Jon Feltheimer as a keynote speaker and the expansion of the show floor.
Feldman’s deal will keep him with the trade org through 2012. He’s in his sixth year as head of the National Assn. of Television Program Executives, with his current pact set to expire in May.
Feltheimer, meanwhile, will deliver his address on the morning of Jan. 27. The confab runs Jan. 26-29 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
NATPE officials said show-floor space will be doubled next year, and a restaurant will be added to the floor to keep confab attendees from fleeing the area for networking and dealmaking.
On a conference call with reporters Feldman said discussions continue to bring back to NATPE domestic distribs including Sony Pictures Television — which shifted its confab focus in 2008 to early January’s Consumer Electronics Show — but that the configuration of NATPE ’09 “will look very similar to last year.”
In addition, the event’s Monday sked — which has been filled the last several years with panel discussions themed around mobile content and technology — will give way to the broadly sloganed “Managing Change in a Turbulent Media Landscape.” Panelists will include profs from USC’s Marshall School of Business as well as a range of execs from the TV and tech industries.
