Marathon uncovers ‘Spiez’

Animation series set for Mipcom Jnr.

PARIS — Gaul’s leading animation producer, Marathon Media, will unveil spy comedy skein “The Amazing Spiez” at Mipcom Junior, which runs in Cannes Oct. 11-12.

Shot in HD, the 52-episode, 26-minute series features four 10-year-old siblings who try to balance their offbeat family lives, while serving on espionage missions taking them all over the world.

Co-created by Marathon toppers Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel and helmed by “Totally Spies!” veteran Stephane Berry, the series is a Marathon Media, Canal J and Image Entertainment co-production, in association with French net TF1 and Teletoon Canada.

Unlike the manga-inspired international hit “Totally Spies!,” launched by Marathon in 2001, “Spiez” draws its visual inspiration more from classic American design, borrowing freely from the Marvel and DC Comics style.
