Lifetime is going to rock for a week straight to support its entry into original comedy.
The cabler will premiere its upcoming laffer “Rita Rocks” by stripping original episodes of the skein for five straight nights, starting with the show’s Oct. 20 launch. Series will run each night that week behind off-net comedy “Reba.”
“Rita Rocks” will settle into its normal Tuesday 8:30 p.m. timeslot starting Oct. 28.
Series stars Nicole Sullivan as an overworked wife and mother who solves an identity crisis by forming a garage band. Richard Ruccolo and Tisha Campbell-Martin co-star.
“Rita Rocks” is produced by Media Rights Capital for Lifetime, with Stan Zimmerman, James Berg, Jeffrey Hodes and Nastaran Dibai serving as exec producers.
