Image Entertainment, one of the largest homevid indies, has formed a worldwide television sales division and named Steve Saltman to lead it.
As senior VP of worldwide television, Saltman will oversee sales of Image-licensed and Image-distributed content across all TV platforms, including broadcast, cable and satellite, pay-per-view and video-on-demand. Previously, he was senior VP of domestic television.
Aside from new revenue streams, the expansion “brings us one step closer to becoming a full-service, worldwide entertainment sales and distribution organization,” said David Borshell, chief operating officer of Image Entertainment.
Move comes ahead of the Mip TV confab, where Image will peddle U.S. TV rights to pics including “The Air I Breathe,” “The Secret” and “Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead,” various docus and concerts including “Megadeth: That One Night: Live in Buenos Aires.”
Image also upped Barbara Gomperz-McCarney to exec director of international sales and operations and Tiina Teal to manager of television sales and international operations. Both report to Saltman.
