Super Size Me” helmer Morgan Spurlock has chomped into a new overall deal at Fox TV Studios.

Under the exclusive new pact, Spurlock will develop and produce series for both TV and new media. Fox TV Studios is looking to create both scripted and nonscripted fare with Spurlock.

While Spurlock is best known for his documentary background, he’s no stranger to TV: FX will launch the third season of his “30 Days” docu skein this year.

Deal was announced Wednesday by Fox TV Studios programming exec VP David Madden, as well as the shingle’s new alternative series chief, Jill Schwartz.

“Jill and I wanted to make a statement that this studio was after adventurous material that would blur the lines between scripted and nonscripted, that would be provocative, high profile and mess with all the rules,” Madden said. “We hope to support him doing what he’s already been doing so beautifully in the personal documentary mode, as well as to help him cause trouble both in the traditional narrative arena and in the world of the Web.”

Spurlock’s recent credits include the film “What Would Jesus Buy?” and the upcoming Sundance entry “Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?” His “Super Size Me” is the No. 8 highest-grossing doc of all time and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Series “30 Days,” which is hosted by Spurlock, follows people as they assume different roles in society for a month in order to get a new perspective on how others live. Show comes from Reveille and Actual Reality.

Spurlock says “30 Days” reps the kind of thing he now plans to do at Fox TV Studios, where he hopes “to create the kind of unabashed programming that will move audiences and make them think.”

“As a filmmaker and producer, it’s so important to me to maintain my own voice and work in an environment that encourages creative freedom and exploration of new ideas,” Spurlock said. “I’ve had exactly that kind of experience with FX on ’30 Days.'”

As for Schwartz, the exec quietly joined Fox TV Studios as senior VP of programming development in July; before that, she was a consultant for the shingle and Fox World. Schwartz filled the void left by the departure of exec VP Holly Jacobs.

Schwartz’s other credits include a decade at FremantleMedia North America and seven years at Dick Clark Prods.
