Producer Dennis Doty has been elected to chair of the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers and Directors, succeeding Vin Di Bona for a two-year term.

Doty’s appointment coincides with the org’s decision to move with the times and open membership opportunities to creatives working in the new media realm. Caucus’ formal name has been amended to the Caucus of Television Producers, Writers and Directors: An Alliance of Television and New Media Content Creators.

Di Bona will now serve as co-chair of the org, along with Bill Blinn and Lionel Chetwynd. John Moffitt was elected treasurer and Herman Rush as secretary.

Also newly elected for two-year terms on the org’s steering committee were Don Bellisario, Gil Cates, Suzanne de Passe, Bob Finkel, David Gerber, Roger Gimbel, Gary Grossman, Norman Powell, Robb Weller and Michael Zinberg.

Doty, longtime partner with Cates in Cates/Doty Prods., is producing the official Oscars preshow for ABC, “Oscar’s Red Carpet With Regis Philbin.” His many producing credits include CBS’ 75th anniversary speshes and ABC’s “An American Celebration at Ford’s Theater.”
