Disney Channel programming exec Scott Garner is heading to Lifetime, where he’s been named senior VP of planning, scheduling and acquisitions.
Garner replaces Leslie Glenn-Chesloff, who opted not to relocate to the West Coast when the job was moved from New York to Los Angeles.
Garner will handle scheduling for Lifetime and its siblings, Lifetime Movie Network and Lifetime Real Women. He’ll also be charged with acquiring off-network programming and longform projects for the channels.
He’ll report to Lifetime Entertainment prexy Susanne Daniels, who announced the hiring Thursday. Daniels called Garner “an executive who is truly at the top of his game.”
“His keen scheduling and programming insights will be a huge asset to all of our networks,” she said.
Garner comes to Lifetime after serving as senior VP of programming at the Disney Channel. There, he helped strategize the programming of hit skeins such as “Hannah Montana,” “That’s So Raven” and “Lizzie McGuire.” He also handled the bows of powerhouse movies including “High School Musical” and its sequel, as well as “The Cheetah Girls 2.”
Also at Disney, he handled planning and scheduling for shows on the Toon Disney channel and programming blocks such as Playhouse Disney and Jetix.
