Lonnie Burstein has been promoted to exec VP of programming and production at Debmar-Mercury.
Burstein, who had been senior VP of research and new programming, was point person on the distrib’s “Wendy Williams Show” talker, which had a test run on Fox-owned stations in the summer and will roll out nationally next year.
Burstein also has overseen the launch of “Trivial Pursuit: America Plays,” spearheading the integration of user-generated Web content into the strip, which began its syndicated run last week.
Before joining Debmar-Mercury, Burstein was president of the nonpartisan research company Media Vote. For four years before that, he was senior VP of firstrun programming and development for Studios USA.
