The CW has picked up five additional episodes of frosh drama “Privileged.”
Order brings the show’s season total to 18, including “Privileged’s” initial 13-episode pickup.
That means both of the netlet’s frosh scripted skeins (not including the Sunday MRC fare) have been given votes of confidence. The Dub had previously given “90210” a full season order.
To help expand sampling for “Privileged,” the CW will air original segs on two consecutive Mondays — Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 — behind “Gossip Girl.” (“One Tree Hill,” which was scheduled to be in repeats, will be preempted.) Those segs will then repeat the following night in “Privileged’s” normal post-“90210” slot.
“Privileged” comes from Alloy Entertainment (which originated the franchise via the book “How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls”), as well as Warner Bros. TV and CBS Paramount Network TV. Rina Mimoun, Bob Levy and Leslie Morgenstein exec produce.
JoAnna Garcia stars as the live-in tutor hired by the grandmother (Anne Archer) of two rich girls (Lucy Kate Hale, Ashley Newbrough) to serve as the surrogate guardian.
