CBS’s on-air promotions team is getting a few promotions of its own.
Garen van de Beek has been bumped up to senior VP of on-air promotion inside the department. Also, the CBS West Coast on-air promotion department has passed out VP stripes to Paul Friedman, Chris Cranner, Lori Shefa and Brad Roe.
Ron Scalera, exec VP and creative director of the CBS Marketing Group, announced the changes on Wednesday.
“Garen has been a rising star since his days at our Los Angeles station, KCBS,” Scalera said. “He possesses both the strong creative instincts and excellent leadership qualities needed to lead the department.”
Van de Beek had been VP of CBS on-air promotion, working on shows including “CSI: Miami,” “Without a Trace” and “Cold Case.” He also was in charge of the CBS radio promotion department.
Friedman’s a 20-year CBS vet, having worked on shows like “Survivor”; Cranner, who’s been with CBS since 1996, helped launch “Everybody Loves Raymond”; Shefa’s credits include on-air campaigns for “Criminal Minds”; and Roe has worked on marketing dramas such as “CSI.”
Also landing promotions: Sarah LaBrache, to director, and Anne de Vega, to exec producer, in the department.
