CBS TV promotes Scott Koondel

Exec named president of distribution

NEW YORK — CBS TV has promoted Scott Koondel to the new title of president of distribution, acknowledging his successful sale to cable TV of off-network series such as “NCIS,” “Criminal Minds” and “Everybody Hates Chris.”

In his new job, L.A.-based Koondel will continue to pitch rerun programming to buyers in cable TV and various digital-media platforms, including video-on-demand and cable-network websites.

Koondel’s previous title was exec VP of off-network, cable and interactive media. He joined Paramount TV Distribution as Eastern division manager in 1994, before Par owner Viacom bought CBS. He rose to vice president in 1997 and senior VP and national sales manager in 1999.

Before the September 2006 merger of King World and CBS Paramount Domestic TV, Koondel was exec VP of distribution for CBS Par Domestic TV.
