Barbour to reprise ‘Two Cities’ role

Lazar, Edelman, Burkhardt, Earley join cast

James Barbour will reprise his role in the Broadway incarnation of tuner “A Tale of Two Cities,” with thesps Aaron Lazar (“Les Miserables”) and Gregg Edelman (“Wonderful Town”) joining the show in Gotham.

The musical, based on the 1859 Charles Dickens novel set during the French Revolution, begins previews this summer after a tryout last fall at the Asolo Repertory Theater in Sarasota, Fla.

Also new to the cast are Brandi Burkhardt and Kevin Earley. Asolo vets joining Barbour include Craig Bennett, Natalie Toro, Nick Wyman and Michael Hayward-Jones.

“Cities” begins perfs at the Al Hirschfeld Theater on Aug. 19.
