Wigan will receive Visionary Award

Sony exec feted at CineAsia

Longtime Sony Pictures exec Gareth Wigan will receive the CineAsia Visionary Award Dec. 11 at the Wynn Macau in Macau.

From 1997 through last spring, Wigan oversaw Sony’s local-language production program, through which more than 40 films have been produced and co-produced in 12 countries, including “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “Kung Fu Hustle.” Wigan has also worked at Columbia, Fox and the Ladd Co. and formed his own production company in partnership with Paula Weinstein.
