South Wales taps Searchlight exec

Carvalho to campaign for Film & TV productions

SYDNEY — Former Fox Searchlight Australia manager Paul de Carvalho has been tapped by the New South Wales Film and Television Office to lure productions to the area.

De Carvalho, who founded Sydney’s Asia Pacific Film Festival, is charged with mounting a campaign to attract international and domestic production to NSW as the state attempts to prove it is serious about pursuing foreign production after losing work to the neighboring states of Victoria and Queensland.
