BERLIN — Georg Miros, head of marketing and distribution at Kinowelt, has ankled his post effective immediately.
Miros has overseen distribution at Kinowelt since 2003 and played a key role in the marketing of such Kinowelt hits as “Mr. And Mrs. Smith,”
“March of the Penguins” and the record-breaking World Cup soccer documentary “Germany: A Summer Fairytale.” Veronika Morawetz, managing director of German indie distributor Stardust, will serve as a consultant on individual Kinowelt releases until the company appoints a new marketing and distribution chief.
Miros’ exit follows the appointment earlier this month of Jan-Pelgrom de Haas as Kinowelt’s new CEO, replacing Bertil le Claire, who ankled his post in May.
The executive reshuffling comes in the wake of StudioCanal’s E70 million ($111 million) takeover of Kinowelt earlier this year.
