LONDON — Universal Pictures International has upped Vadim Ivanov, the commercial director of its Russian operations, to managing director in the rapidly growing territory.
Ivanov replaces Eugene Beginin, who is leaving UPI to pursue other interests in the Russian film industry.
UPI prexy David Kosse made the announcement Tuesday.
Ivanov will be responsible for UPI’s theatrical marketing and distribution strategies of all Universal titles in Russia.
He will report to London-based Duncan Clark, exec veep of international distribution, and Niels Swinkels, veep of sales and distribution for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining Universal in August 2007, Ivanov worked as theatrical sales director for 20th Century Fox in the former CIS states and was also deputy theatrical distribution director for Gemini Film International.
